In the first half of this article I wrote about why you should be part of a children’s book club (mine is called Picture Book Surgery): to make good books, you need to read books. But there is something else… By dissecting books and sharing your findings with other people, you’ll learn to pitch books. And that, my friend, is a very useful skill. It’ll come in handy when submitting your story to a publisher, when going on a book tour, when doing school visits, when writing book reviews, etc.
